I like Levy’s recommendations although I doubt they will be acted upon. I also doubt their effect if done. Those most likely to use their product are I think those least likely affected today by untruths.
The Conversation: How changes to the Ontario Autism Program will hurt kids like my son
Policy simplifications appeal, but they lack requisite variety. All policies intrinsically reduce variety of response to the real world. It doesn’t matter what the policy is. Simplification to the point of “Policy for Dummies ” is at best a poor fit at worst destructive. https://theconversation.com/how-changes-to-the-ontario-autism-program-will-hurt-kids-like-my-son-111407?utm_source=facebook&utm_medium=facebookbutton
Aeon: Gossip was a powerful tool for the powerless in Ancient Greece
What is old is always new again. Change the context of Athenian courts to that of today’s public opinion, in which character assassination is a common tactic. Change the articles focus on ancient un-entitled women’s use of gossip to a broader contemporary concept of the offended and the instigators. Internet – Athens at the speed of light.
WEB Sites Worth Visiting
Most of my Facebook activity is sharing links to articles I find on the internet that I think might interest others. I am always looking for sites that contain informative and balanced information. I prefer to read rather than watch or listen to opinion and news. It allows me to pause and think or to reread anything I’m not sure I got right the first time. Here is a list of what I have found so far.

“Media Bias/Fact Check (MBFC News), founded in 2015, is an independent online media outlet. MBFC News is dedicated to educating the public on media bias and deceptive news practices.”

The Guardian, opion-wise liberal leftish, solid reporting.

Andrew Coyne for opinion usually from the right, but well though out and not a rant.
I think this is the best English language current affairs and analysis magazine in the world. IF you have a Toronto Library Card you do not have to subsribe. Read it on line by going to https://www.torontopubliclibrary.ca/detail.jsp?Em=1&Entt=RDMEDB0181&R=EDB0181
“Aeon is a registered charity committed to the spread of knowledge and a cosmopolitan worldview. Our mission is to create a sanctuary online for serious thinking.”

“Project Syndicate produces and delivers original, high-quality commentaries to a global audience. “The Conversation Canada launched in June 2017. The Conversation is an independent source of news and views, from the academic and research community, delivered direct to the public.
Our team of professional editors work with experts to unlock their knowledge for use by the wider public.
Access to independent, high-quality, authenticated, explanatory journalism underpins a functioning democracy. Our aim is to allow for better understanding of current affairs and complex issues. And hopefully allow for a better quality of public discourse and conversations.
We have introduced new protocols and controls to help rebuild trust in journalism. All authors and editors sign up to our Editorial Charter. And all contributors must abide by our Community Standards policy. We only allow authors to write on a subject on which they have proven expertise, which they must disclose alongside their article. Authors’ funding and potential conflicts of interest must be disclosed. Failure to do so carries a risk of being banned from contributing to the site.”

“Since its founding in 1922, Foreign Affairs has been the leading forum for serious discussion of American foreign policy and global affairs. It is now a multiplatform media organization with a print magazine, a website, a mobile site, various apps and social media feeds, an event business, and more. ”
A bit too focused on American perspective but full of good articles.
“Quartz was founded in 2012 to serve a new kind of business leader with bracingly creative and intelligent journalism that’s built for users first. We help our audience see around corners, navigate disruption in their industries, build fulfilling careers, broaden their views of the world, and enjoy lives rich with culture.”

Sometimes nothing will do but the source. When it comes to Ontario legislation this is the place to go to.

The same thing for the Canadian federal government.
